While no one ever accused Mustang of being a subtle and inconspicuous car, the latest paint job on the new 2024 model takes it to the next level. The retro color is inspired by the traditional Mustang paint job from the 1970s.
Today’s version is oversaturated and not as drab as the original. Barb Whalen, color and materials manager at the firm, had this to say:
“This color traces back to a Mustang heritage color while bringing it forward with more modern, dynamic pigments and bold new energy.”
Green is not the only color Ford plans to unleash on the unsuspecting public. The next in line is Twister Orange, which will probably be even more garish and eye-watering. The color chart for the new 2024 Mustang will be completed with Iconic Silver and Red Hot Metallic.
Along with a standard version, Ford plans to release Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 in 2024 as well. The iconic Shelby will be the most powerful production car in the world, packing 700 horsepower. It will be powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds.
Many purists will cry about the lack of a manual gearbox. Instead, Shelby will be fitted with a TREMEC 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, which allows gear shifts in under 100ms and comes with five drive modes, normal, weather, sport, drag, and track modes.
Regardless of how outrageous new colors appear, they do fit new Shelby well, thanks to its design. The huge front grill adds to the dramatic effect and the generous use of carbon fibers has helped keep the weight done, significantly improving the car’s performance.
