Mercedes-Benz has recently revealed how the new redesigned GLE will look like. The new mid-size crossover will be available in the market from 2024.
Although we had the opportunity to see several prototypes in the past year, but in relation to them, now we can conclude that the GLE Coupe has become part of the AMG family.
Another feature of the new coupe-like crossover are wheels and tires that are massive as well as lower suspension. This clearly tells us this is a car connected to the AMG. When we are talking about external characteristics, we have to mention four exhaust pipes that show us that it’s about the entry-level version. This should mean that the new machine will replace the GLE43 Coupe.
On the front, we can see a single-bar grille, while the full version of the GLE63 Coupe will feature a different grille, most likely Panamericana one.
Since it is a car that will replace GLE43, we expect the new GLE53 to be similar to its predecessor when it comes to the drivetrain. The previous model has a mild-hybrid system. In addition, it is powered by an inline 6-cylinder engine by Mercedes. Before GLE53, we saw this engine in 2019 CLS53.
Speaking of features, the new 2024 Mercedes-AMG GLE53 Coupe has 429 horsepower as well as 384 pound-feet of torque. As for acceleration, the new Mercedes-AMG machine will reach from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 5.0 seconds. The features that are certainly important to note are four-wheel drive as well as 9-speed automatic transmission.
Speaking of GLE63, it will be powered by twin-turbocharged V-8 produced by AMG. This engine is capable of producing 550 horsepower, when it comes to the standard version, while the S version will have up to 600 horsepower.
As for the date when the redesigned GLE Coupe should be unveiled, the end of 2019 is probably time when it will hit the showrooms, while it will be available in sales most likely in 2024. The GLE53 version should appear after that, as well as the plug-in hybrid GLE Coupe.
